Fifth Week Book Discussion - The Conscious Parent

This chapter on parenting is no different than the first four in its attempt to get us to examine our inner selves. It begins by asking "Am I dealing with my child in an aware manner or am I being triggered by my past?" The focus is on us, as parents, which is as it should be, requiring us to look within before speaking and acting with our children. We can't take our words or actions back when something our children have said or done triggers a reaction in us. However, we can always do better the next time if we are more conscious or aware which should give each parent hope. Lynn Loving

In chapter 5 we learn that children absorb behaviors from there parents, so in the future I need to be aware and conscious of my actions so my children don't pick up any bad habits. Ashia Cosby
